Headquartered in Bokeelia, Florida, Nautical Mile Magazine’s history dates back to August 2003 where it began as a free printed monthly publication in SW Florida.

While magazines like to pile up pages of advertisers, Nautical Mile Magazine has a history of providing creative nautical content and articles which offer variety, "flavor," and exclusive nautical content for coastal enthusiasts worldwide. The company has also hosted many coastal events such as boat shows and nautical markets.

Nautical Mile’s latest project was to map every restaurant in the state of Florida who offers dockage to boaters. We found over 600 and made a downloadable GoogleMap and now boaters can discover new water-access dining locations.

Nautical Mile also manages several Facebook groups where members engage with other nautical and coastal enthusiasts.

Readership has expanded around the world as the publication’s content continues to attract people with a taste for it’s unique 2-minute nautical and tropical articles, mostly from contributing writers. The printed edition is still in high demand circulating in SW Florida, while digital editions focus on multiple areas.

Each issue includes unique content about coastal towns, boating & fishing information, tropical hidden gems, nautical events, history and wildlife, and a guide to restaurants in Florida who offer dockage to the boating community.

Nautical Mile’s contributing monthly writers include seasoned captains and fishing guides, known and unknown writers, and environmental contributors. Regular columnists include Capt. Greg McKee, Bob Moro, Capt. Joe Greco, Capt. Alex Moran, Thomas E. Dawson, Capt. Kathy Eagle, and Capt. Mike Bartlett from Key West who are all experts in fishing, boating safety, navigation, and wildlife.

Mark Rackay of the Montrose County Sheriff’s Posse, national survival expert and outdoor writer for over a dozen newspapers and magazines joins us from Colorado, plus we have Kyra Quarles, the Team Broker for The Quarles Team at Royal Shell Real Estate with Florida market updates.

Contributing writers offer a well-rounded perspective on Florida’s coastal lifestyle with health and community voices like Robin Griffiths (wellness programs), Annie Bush (brain health), and Sophie McKee, a teen elementary student who writes about reptiles from around the world.
