There's a YouTube video for that...
With the snowbirds heading south our waterways are going to get very crowded again. Perhaps it’s time to think about making the pledge to “boat sober.”
Boating Under the Influence (BUI) is the leading contributing factor for boating deaths. Boating Under the Influence is not only illegal in every state, but 100% preventable.
Sea Tow is the sponsor for the Sober Skipper program and recently launched a new video series titled Sober Skipper™: Why It Matters.(www.boatingsafety.com/
page/Why-It-Matters)
In announcing the new series, Gail R. Kulp, Executive Director of the Sea Tow Foundation said, “… taking the Sober Skipper pledge is not just a personal choice, but a community responsibility.”
Please consider taking the pledge to be or to designate a Sober Skipper before leaving the dock.
A Sober Skipper should not consume any alcohol or drugs.
A Sober Skipper is responsible for the safe operation of the boat and the safety of all the passengers in the boat.
Sober Skippers stay hydrated with water, sports drinks, or other non-alcoholic beverages. They should never consume alcohol while boating.
Take the pledge, Stay safe on the water!
